Respiratory Infections
The Respiratory Complete Panel (RESP-COMP-PCR) is a diagnostic test that detects the presence of viral and bacterial respiratory pathogens in a patient’s respiratory tract. This panel uses a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique to identify specific genetic material of the pathogens in respiratory specimens, such as sputum, bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid, nasopharyngeal swabs, or throat swabs.
The RESP-COMP-PCR panel is a highly sensitive and specific diagnostic tool for respiratory infections, allowing for rapid and accurate identification of the causative pathogen. It is often used in conjunction with clinical evaluation and other laboratory tests to guide appropriate treatment decisions and infection control measures.
