Pancreatic Panel (PAMP)
The Pancreatic Panel (PAMP) is a group of blood tests that measures the levels of enzymes and other substances produced by the pancreas. These tests are used to diagnose and monitor conditions affecting the pancreas, such as pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, or cystic fibrosis.
The PAMP is typically ordered when an individual has symptoms of pancreatic dysfunction, such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or unexplained weight loss. The test may also be ordered to monitor the effectiveness of treatment for pancreatic conditions or to screen individuals at high risk of developing pancreatic cancer, such as those with a family history of the disease. The results of the PAMP can help guide appropriate treatment and management of conditions affecting the pancreas.
